Jim Chorley
Thursday 14.00 - 15.00

Jim Chorley is a local Acoustic/Folk singer-songwriter from Southampton and now living in Winchester.

His unique and authentic music and songs are honest, from the heart, down to earth and real. They are story-songs of wild woods, Welshman's Daughters, sing along sea shanties on the high rolling seas, romantic meetings on the cobbled streets of a midnight city and the magical, mystical, mysteries of love, life and nature.

Jim has also been featured on the TV talking about his Dad, Dave Chorley and his partner, Doug Bower and their crop circle adventures. Both men were responsible for inventing and creating the magical, folk art form of Crop Circles back in the late 70s early 80s in the cornfields around Hampshire and Wiltshire.

Alongside a BBC film crew Jim took a day trip over to a cornfield near Devizes in Wiltshire, where a crop circle had recently been formed. Jim was interviewed and filmed performing, 'Painting Circles in the Corn' his song  which immortalises their amazing story. Both his  Dad and Doug Bower have now passed and the song is his personal way of keeping their memories and legacies alive. It is a song that is close to Jim's heart and one that is filled with love and his tribute to those two fine gentlemen from Southampton who once upon a time in England were 'The men who conned the World'
